Syrian Ambassador visits campus

International diplomat enjoys meeting students and touring facilities

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has welcomed two top international diplomats to Preston.

His Excellency Dr. Sami Khiami, the Syrian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, met Syrian students studying at UCLan, toured around the multi-million pound facilities on campus and enjoyed presentations by members of the International team.

The Ambassador, who has been in the role since November 2004, was accompanied today, Friday, by Adham Mardinik attaché at the Syrian Embassy in London.

He said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting the University and seeing the great work that is being undertaken in Preston. It was very insightful to speak to the Syrian students who are based at UCLan and also to see the fantastic facilities."
